Why have I stopped receiving new leads (matches)?
This article will help Pro members (breeders) troubleshoot why they may not be receiving new buyer leads.
There are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and optimize your account to increase your chances of receiving more leads.
Please remember that the number and kind of buyers who sign up with TellTail are beyond our control. Market trends fluctuate, and the demand for specific breeds or types of dogs can vary. This article provides strategies to maximize your account for the highest possible lead generation. However, it's important to understand that we can only provide the leads that come in.
Delete your "dummy litter"
When you register your free "Preview" account, TellTail creates a "dummy litter" for you so that you can start receiving buyer leads for your breed immediately.
After upgrading to Pro, we suggest deleting this litter.
This "dummy litter" looks just like the other litters you can post to your account. You can find this litter by looking for the litter that has pups priced at $5000.
Update go-home dates
The most common cause of leads slowing down or stopping is when breeders have litters listed with go-home dates that are in the past.
If you have litters listed with go-home dates that are in the past, our algorithm may assume that these litters do not have pups anymore.
If you still have pups available from litters who have go-home dates that are in the past, update the go-home dates to a date that is a few weeks out in the future. This will tell our algorithm that you still have pups available from the litter, and we can continue sending matches (buyer leads) for that litter.
Be sure to communicate the age of the pups to buyers.
If you have litters posted with no pups available, please delete the litters.
Post upcoming litters
Be sure to post any upcoming litters you have, even if they are still in the early planning stages!
